Humans have known weaving since antiquity, when it is inspired by ancient men when observing spider webs.In accordance with human needs for clothing materials, human began developing weaving as clothe. weaving activity began spread to various places in the world. From Continental Europe, America to Asia, and eventually into the territory of Indonesia.
In Indonesia, weaving also has spread to the corners of the region and almost everywhere have the unique weaving production and quality. Lombok is one region in Indonesia that produced weaving with very reach texture and design. people of Lombok wearing weaving cloth on some of culture ceremonial and it has sacred value. also for traditional Lombok people (Sasak Tribe) some kind of weaving as a social identity, we can distinguish easily whether from the nobility or from the natives and also from they way they wearing weaving.
they are four place on Lombok as a center of hand weaving those are : Bayan (North Lombok Regency), Sukerare (Center of Lombok), Pringgesele (East Lombok) and Sembalun (East Lombok).
